Co-Curricular Activities

Art and painting, pottery, drawing, handicraft, digital filming, sculpture, gardening, caring for animals, and birding, are some substantive activities important in academics at Shigally and envisage a broad vision in personality development. SIA believes that every student has creativity inbuilt and is unique in thoughts and actions to ensure that every child is appreciated for their individuality.

In the past, the school has been ranked no 1 for its promotion of diverse Co-Curricular activities among the students. To mention a few, amongst the literary pursuits, the girls take a keen interest in Debating, Elocution, Summits, Forums, English quizzes, G.K. Quiz

and much more. The other creative and refined activities, at the school is Indian Classical music and singing, Western Music, Performing art, Painting, and Digital Filming.

At Shigally tremendous opportunities is provided to children in Games and Sports. It is compulsory for the entire student body to actively take part in all the Games and Sports-related activities. On regular basis, the girls are encouraged to participate in Basketball, Throwing the ball, Badminton, Karate, Table-tennis and among the seasonal Sport, Swimming, and Basketball.

The ability to talk in English is one of the most basic needs. All admissions decisions are made solely on the basis of the candidate’s qualifications. Admission to any class is determined by the preceding class’s results as well as an interview with the school’s Principal and Director.

Admission to Class XI is based on the Class X (ICSE) Board Result and any other Board according to the CISCE rules, as well as a personal interview with the principal and counselling.

For candidates seeking admission to Class XI in the Science and Engineering stream, the criteria or cut-off percentage is 65 percent. And for Commerce and Humanities, the cut-off number is 60%.
