Exciting practical activities form a crucial part of learning science and the IGCSE curriculum requires practical work at almost all levels.
In addition to one Montessori lab for young children, we have four well-equipped laboratories that adhere to international standards and are devoted to the three sciences of physics, chemistry, and biology.
In addition to these, the computers Lab, the Language Lab, and Mathematics Lab give a breadth of opportunities for our students to enjoy an all-around development.
Hostel
The hostel is a part of the school premises. Through good understanding and supervision of our students’ academic performance and extracurricular activities, we completely guarantee their safety.
Both boys and girls are accommodated in separate, clean, and well-ventilated building blocks at the school hostel. The school’s housing and lodging amenities guarantee students a secure and pleasant stay.
Box rooms, changing rooms, and bathrooms with running water are connected to the dorms. Each hostel also has a lounge and a small entertainment area with indoor games.
To maintain cleanliness and disinfection, the clothing is washed in a fully mechanised washer. Each hostel guest is provided with a nice bed, separate racks for their shoes and clothing, and a small cabinet or shelf to store their personal items like toiletries, cream, oil, and powder, brushes, combs, books, and stationery.

The mission of MAIS is to make high-quality education accessible and inexpensive to the public in Kothamangalam, preparing today’s youth to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century and beyond. The school will work to support students’ academic success by bringing out their innate skills, talents, and abilities, fostering their full development into sensitive, compassionate, and self-aware individuals, and preparing them to be global citizens with a foundation in Indian culture and values. The country as a whole and the society around it are served by our students’ excellence, which is developed by encouraging students to prioritise the needs of others over their own. Value education, which aims to instil moral principles in students, is also promoted.
The modern infrastructure with spacious information technology-enabled “smart classrooms”, set amidst the greenery of the vast Campus with its playgrounds, special courts, and swimming pool, makes MAIS unique among schools in this area. Overall development of a child is the product of curricular as well as co-curricular activities, which leads to holistic growth and personality development of each child. The benefits of physical activity, competition, and sports foster the excellence and fulfillment of the individual potential of all students from Montessori to grade XII. The sports programs are about commitment, teamwork, and enjoyment as well as providing support and infrastructure, needed for students, who have now attained a greater level of achievement, in the field. MAIS provides students with specialized training by highly qualified instructors and experienced coaches of national and international acclaim. A variety of sports, including swimming, soccer, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and athletics, conduct in tournaments all over the year.
The school was established in 2008 and is the most recent project of Mar Athanasius College Association, a society that was established in 1953 and registered under the Educational, Scientific, and Charitable Societies Act. The Association is in charge of a number of prestigious colleges and universities, including the Mar Athanasius College, the M.A. College of Engineering, and the Mar Baselious College, all of which are housed on the 75-acre Mar Athanasius Mount campus in Kothamangalam. Prof. M. P. Varghese, a great visionary of our time whose dedication, commitment, tireless work, and prompt action have been largely responsible for the transformation.
MAIS is a co-educational International School, nestled in an exclusive 10-acre plot, amidst the lush green countryside of Mar Athanasius Mount, Kothamangalam. Situated just outside the town, away from the din and clutter of city life, the air of the school campus is fresh, crisp, and free from pollution.
