SCHOOL LIFE
The school starts the day with the breakfast that is provided to students. After breakfast, students gather at the Seksaria Hall for the morning assembly. After which they move towards their respective class to gain knowledge. Between the continuous periods, a short break is given to students during which they gather at ‘nihari’ a snacks counter. During the recess hours, all students gather themselves at the dining hall for the lunch. Further, the class continues with the rest of the lectures one’s the recess gets over.
During late afternoon hours, the pupils may hear the whistle sound which indicates that all students are ready to develop their sportsman spirit.
In evening, you will find all students at the Astachal, a silent place for meditation.
After this activity, students are made to recall and learn all the topics that have been taught in the class till the dinner time. They get the one hour entertainment time after dinner.
Academics
The school has the healthy environment which provides various opportunities to build the overall personality of the students and to develop the eagerness to learn and do the task.
They have highly qualified and experienced teachers who use latest techniques for teaching. They also believe in experimental learning that makes their concepts clear.
They also get the opportunity to study abroad.
SPORTS
The school provides both inter-house and inter-school sports facility. Students of Junior sections are trained in sports like hockey, football, athletics, archery, horse-riding, shooting, swimming, lawn-tennis, squash etc. Students of class VIII get the chance to choose one of their favorite sports in which they are well-trained with the basic skills. They are allowed to showcase their talent by participating in inter-school competitions. Apart from these sports, the school organizes the yoga and exercise classes to make the students physically fit and active. They also organize different fun games like Gilli Danda, Pitthhoo and Kite flying.
HOUSES
The school premises contains the total of 12 houses i.e. 4 houses in Junior Wing and rest of 8 houses in Senior Wing. They are named as JayaJi house, RanoJi House, MahadJi House, Jeeva Ji House, Madhav House, Shivaji House, Daulat House, Jayappa House, Janko Ji House, Datta Ji House, Nima Ji House, Kanerkhed House.
IN-SCHOOL SERVICES
The school provides the facility of the stationary store, medical store, telephone booth, clothing store, tuck shop etc. Every time, the student’s attendance, hobbies, content delivery are also tracked. They also have a spacious library which contains more than 10,000 books.
The Scindia School was established in the year 1897. The school is also known as the Sardar School which was founded by H.H. Maharaja Madhavrao Scindia I in the 19th century. The period of 19th century was the toughest period for the school as it was based on English Medium and was replacing pathshalas, madarsas and gurukuls.
The school is situated atop of Gwalior Fort which is surrounded by beautiful hills.
