The International Sahaja Public School, Talnoo, Dharamshala

FACILITIES:

LIBRARY

Currently, the school includes a general library with over 3000 books. This will be developed more after the new academic block is through. The students get access to books based on their age groups. Additionally, there is a sizable collection of Sahaja publications as well as audio and video cassettes of Shri Mataji. We have a collection of educational videos, documentaries, and other movies deemed appropriate for young viewers on video cassette, CD, and DVD. Celebrations take place in the leisure centre, where students also watch movies.

STADIUM

In the school’s 16,000 square foot indoor stadium, players of table tennis, basketball, and badminton compete. This also acts as a location for various ceremonies including pujas and havans.

BOARDING

All students, professors, administrators, and staff members responsible for caring for the dorms receive food and accommodation as part of the Residential School programme. There are 18 dorms available for the students, with one caregiver caring for between 10 and 15 kids per dorm, depending on the age of the students. The person in charge of the dormitory looks after all the daily requirements, including cleanliness, laundry, Sahaja clearance, etc., while watching over the kids just like a parent would.

HEALTH AND CARE

The school’s medical unit is staffed by a full-time physician who lives on campus and is assisted by trained nursing personnel. First aid and minor illnesses are both adequately covered by the equipment in our medical unit. The students are brought to the Dharamshala Government Hospital for additional referrals. Additionally, our institution enjoys a cordial relationship with the Kangra Fortis Hospital.

Regular dental exams are performed at schools, and Dharamshala’s top orthodontists offer orthodontic care.

CATERING

Our kitchen serves a combination of Indian, Continental, and Oriental cuisines. Every day, our skilled catering staff takes the food’s balance and nutritional worth into account. The main course is always an option.

The school has its own bakery where baked goods like fresh bread and buns are made.

HOUSE SYSTEM

The four houses at the school are SAT, CHIT, NIRMAL, and ANANDA. Each of the homes is home to Senior and Junior students as well as staff members. Every week, each house is responsible for planning the Sunday Puja, and during the year, there are inter-house competitions in sports and other activities.

MENTORS

There is a mentoring programme for children who are new to the ISPS community. All new students are given the responsibility of an adult and a senior student who aids them in adjusting to the school. Additionally, all staff members are present and accessible at all times to assist and counsel the kids.

The youngster is wearing a report card. The counsellor reviews it every day to assist the kids and parents in understanding their progress.

VIDEO

On weekends, one video is often shown to juniors and one to seniors. A group of pupils and an adult member of staff choose the movies.
