RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE SCHOOL

There are certain rules and regulations of the school that has to be followed by the students:
Library
Students are allowed to enter the library only in the Library period. Absence of students from the period are punishable.
Students are made to maintain silence in the room.
Only 2 books are issued on the library card and it has to be returned back within 7 days and maximum upto 14 days otherwise they have to pay penalty for it.
If the student lose the library card then they have to pay Rs. 100 as the fine.
As the students get books they have to examine it if there is no damage to it. Otherwise if the book is found damaged they have to be penalized

School Discipline
Punctuality- Students should be on time.
When the 1st bell rangs, the students should move silently for the assembly.
Late attendance will be marked in the diaries.
Students are not allowed to leave the class during class hours. It’s an exceptional for the emergency conditions.
School will not be responsible for the students who buy foods from outside.
Students need to maintain cleanliness around them.
Students should greet the elders, teachers, friends in a soft tone.
Pupils should take care of their own items like ornaments, watches etc.

Leave of Absence
Parents needs to be informed to the school by writing a letter on the absence of their child.
Its compulsory for the students to attend the school on the closing and re-opening day.
Its compulsory to be present in the school on the National Days.

Personnel Grooming
Student should come to school in neat and tidy way in proper school uniform with polished shoes.
Hairs must be properly braided according to their lengths.
They should not put any king of nail-polish or henna on their hands.
Students are not allowed to wear any kind of jewellery.


SCHOOL AWARDS

The school falicitate with the certificate of merit to the students of class I to III who score 95% and above in all the subjects.
The school falicitate with the certificate of merit to the students of class IV and V who score 90% and above in all the subjects.
The school falicitate with the certificate of merit to the students of class VI to X who score 85% and above in all the subjects.
The school falicitate with the certificate of merit to the students of class XI and XII who score 80% and above in all the subjects.

The Convent of Jesus and Mary School was established on 1st February 1901 by J & M Dehradun Educational Society, a Christian Minority Institution. The strength of the students was only 15 when it was started. The first Principal of the School was St. Isabel. The school gives admissions to all children but the preference is given to the Catholic Children. As it’s the Missionary School, it is compulsory for the Catholic Students to attend the religion classes that are conducted by the school. The school focuses on developing the skills, excellence and the character formation.
February 28th, 1906 was marked as the Red-letter day by the School as the Princesses of Wales (later, Queens Mary of England) visited the school. In the year 1923, the school started the boarding facility.
In the year 1935, Mother Maria Laetitia the first sister of the school joined it. After three years, St. Francis School was opened for the Indian children and later in the year 1942, refugee children from Burma joined it.
Finally, in the year 1947, both the school’s got combined and was named as Convent of Jesus and Mary.
