FACILITIES:

English Lab

The students from remote locations were always inspired by his presence, and he pushed them to develop greater communication skills. This was the goal when establishing the English lab.

It is furnished with modern equipment such as headphones, collar mikes, and audio-visual access.  The lab has made a difference for many students.

Science Laboratory

The students can test scientific ideas and theories in our well-equipped science labs. We have large physics, chemistry, and biology laboratories. Students frequently work alone, in pairs, and in small groups.

Library

The Jawaharlal Nehru Library was founded in 1964. The library has an incredible range of 9000 books in it.

a place for reflection, knowledge sharing, and invention maker space.

Amphitheatre

Dr. M.S. Swaminathan opened Golden Jubilee Hall, which was constructed to mark our school’s 50th anniversary, in 2009. Diamond Jubilee Hall and the surrounding block, which will mark the school’s 60th anniversary, were built in 2019.

The Diamond Jubilee Hall is an open-air theatre that is used for assembly, ceremonies, plays, debates, and celebrations.

Dormitories

There are 11 large dorms that can accommodate 450 boarders, 3 for females, and the rest for boys, each with its own courtyard, TT room, guestroom, and TV room., in addition to this there are adjacent residences for each of House Mothers and House Masters.

Dining Hall

We have 2 dining halls, one for Boarders and the other for Day Scholars.

School-age children need healthy foods and nutritious snacks. When they are developing, they often eat 4 to 5 times each day. During this stage, a lot of eating preferences and routines are set. Children who are in school are frequently more open to trying new cuisines.

Transportation

School transportation is a crucial component of the facilities offered by our school. The school bus remains the safest conveyance method for many younger students and around the town of Sandur.

Students from pre-primary to Grade 6 can avail the school bus facility. A security guard and two teachers escort the children on the bus for safety of the students.

The school encourages and promotes a variety of sports.  Students are required to register for at least one sport. Tennis, table tennis, football, basketball, volleyball, throwball, cricket, badminton, swimming, and martial arts are among the sports that are offered.

The students have access to the best swimming, sports, martial arts, and athletic coaches who can teach them and make sure they develop into top performance.

There is no “no siesta” after school because the students are engaged in sports activities in the early nights. The students are kept busy during this time through the physical rigor of a Football game equally matched by other sports like Hockey, Cricket, Basketball, Tennis, or Badminton.

Our students have achieved medals in martial arts competitions at the national level and have won in various inter-school

There are several sports and games available for school students. These include chess, volleyball, yoga, and martial arts like karate. They also include sports like cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, basketball, and athletics. Coaching is provided by a group of qualified coaches.

Throughout the year, the school has activities that include Debates, Quizzes, Olympiads, Spell Bees, Seminars, Essay Writing, Story Writing, Poem Recitals, Science Talent search, music, dance, and sports.

There are Hobby Clubs including Book Clubs, Aerobics, Yoga, Cooking, Colours Day, Theme–based activities, Dancing and Music, Drawing and Painting, handcraft, Conduction, and Celebration of festivals, Swachh Bharat programs, Street plays, Rallies, Marathons, and community work.

Music and Dance

Indian music comprises qawwali, folk music, ghazal, Hindustani and Carnatic Music, etc. Its musical instruments include the sitar, sarod, sarangi, tanpura, veena, violin, table, mridangam, Jal Tarang, flute, shehnai, etc.

Indian dance forms include folk dance, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kathakali, Manipuri, mohiniyattam, Odissi, etc.

Swimming

A great technique to exercise your complete body and cardiovascular system is swimming. An hour of swimming burns almost as many calories as running, without impacting on your bones and joints.

We have a sprawling campus spread over 75 acres, we often teach under the shade of a tree, we are frequented by various bird species and there is plenty of things to learn from the rich flora around.
