VISION

The vision of the school is to provide the best education and training to boys so that they become capable enough to get admission in the Royal Military College, Sandhurst.

HISTORY

RIMS follows all rich culture and traditions. They say that they have attained the growth and are very much proud as many famous militaries and civilian persons such as Governors, Ambassadors, Ministers and Captains of industry have passed out from this school.

As the school is in touch with the National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla, Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai, and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.

Their main aim is to prepare students for the NDA and NAVAC as they are the dedicated feeder to the National Defense Academy and the NAVAC Academy.

The school library is named after the ex-student Major Somnath Sharma who was awarded the first Param Vir Chakra, the highest Gallantry Award in the year 1948. It has a vast collection of approximately 18000 books, journals, magazines, and different manuscripts.

Computer Center

The school has two computer labs which are equipped with latest hardware and software.

Cyber Cafe

The school provides the internet facility to both teachers and students which support them in their studies and preparing presentations.

Sports

The school organize both inter-school and intra-school competitions and provides the sports facilities like squash, horse riding, swimming, soccer, hockey, basketball, athletics etc.

Extra-Curricular Activities

The school provides various activities to fulfill the hobbies of the students like gardening, dance, music, dramas, art and craft, journalism etc.

Adventure and Trips

The school organizes trekking, long-distance cycling, Mountaineering, Skiing, White Water Rafting and Para Sailing. They also Naval training for boys every year in the month of January in Andaman and Nicobar Island.

The Rashtriya Indian Military College was established on 13th March 1922 by Prince Edward VIII, the Prince of Wales under the Inter-Service Category A which is administered by the Director General of Military Training, Army Headquarters DHQ. It was then situated on the 138 acres land of Garhi Village in Dehradun which was known as the Imperial Cadet Corps (or Rajwada Camp). It is affiliated to C.B.S.E. board.
The students get the admission on the basis of the scores obtained in the written examination, interview, and medical test.
