School Building

The main school structure is a two-story imposing structure. It houses the Library, Computer Section, Art and Craft Halls, Mathematics, Geography Lab, Audio-Visual Room, and some classrooms on the ground floor. The first floor houses the Biology, Physics, and Chemistry Department Laboratories, as well as the Reading Room and Information Room. While the side wings house additional classrooms, the junior wing classes (KG to Std IV) remain held in a separate Primary block.

Information Technology

The school has 2 well-equipped computer labs and well-maintained ICT Lab with internet connectivity round the clock. Computer education is compulsory from Std I onward. All the faculty members are trained in digital lesson preparation and presenting them through PowerPoint Presentations under Intel Teach to the Future Programme.

CCTV Cameras

CCTV camera are installed to in all secondary classes and their corridors, to monitor every activity of students.

School Library

Over 7000 titles are available in the school library. The library has a large collection of newspapers, periodicals, and magazines, mostly in English. Every effort is made to instill good reading habits in children. To encourage better use of library facilities, library periods have been added to the schedule.

Mess

The school mess has a modern kitchen, storerooms, and two well-furnished and spacious dining halls to host luch and dinner for students. The diet has been created by experts to ensure proper nutrition for growing children to stimulate growth and maintain good health.

Water Filtration Plant

The school has a plentiful supply of water and a water filtration plant that meets international standards, supplying purified water throughout the campus. The plant can produce 24,000 litres per hour.

Infirmary

A qualified and experienced doctor life on the school campus to care for the children’s health. A trained nurse and an attendant assist the Doctor. Twice a week, a paediatrician from Pravara Rural Hospital visits the school. The school has a 20-bed infirmary/sick room. Children with minor illnesses are admitted to the infirmary to be separated from healthy students. Boys are admitted to Pravara Rural Medical College in the event of an emergency where specialists and consultants are available.

Sports and Outdoor Infrastructure

Swimming Pool, Gymnasium, Standard Obstacle Course, Athletics- 400 Meters track & field, Basketball Courts, Cricket Ground, Football Field, Hockey Field, Kho-Kho Court, Volleyball Courts, Badminton Court, Table Tennis, Kabbadi.

NCC and Scouts

A junior Division (Army) troop of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) functions in the school. Girls and Boys ages thirteen years and above are eligible to join NCC. Boys with an aptitude for outdoor adventure are sent to Uttarkashi for an initial course in mountaineering at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. Besides the NCC, Scouts and Guides units also exist in the school.

Yoga, Meditation, and Aerobics

To inculcate values like kindness and tolerance, the school has included yoga and meditation in the school curriculum. Students learn to practice yoga, meditation, and aerobics to improve their concentration and physical fitness under professional guidance. Primary school students also get mandatory karate training.

Hobbies

The school encourages students to pursue unique and rewarding hobbies, such as gardening, the study of birds, plants, and insects, carpentry, numismatics, clay modeling, philately, drawing and painting, music, and folk dance. Atal Tinkering Laboratories

The Government of India established the Atal Innovation Mission at NITI AAYOG in response to the need to create and foster scientific temper and innovation among young minds. AIM plans to help establish Atal Tinkering Laboratories in 500 schools across the country.

“Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil first demonstrated the crucial role of education in nation-building and rural development. And this is where the Pravara Rural Education Society (PRES) began its illustrious journey.

 

Pravara Public School, which started in 1964 with three teachers and 27 students in grades one through four, has grown into an institution with 72 teachers and 1634 students in grades one through twelve! They are also a NABET-accredited school and have been an IPSC member since 1971.

 

Because of the brilliant individuals, it has produced in the military, civil services, politics, armed forces, academics, and business. This success over the years has made the school an iconic place to learn.
