The Motto of the school is “Self-realization cannot be achieved by the weak-willed.”
HOUSE SYSTEM
As the child enters the school, he/ she is allotted to the particular house which plays a very important role in the cultural and co-curricular activities. The school has an overall 15 houses which are further divided as Senior House, Middle House, and Junior House.
Facilities
The school provides the following facilities to the students-
Library
The school builds the learning habits from the childhood. They have two libraries- for Senior’s from classes 4th to 7th and for the Juniors from classes 1st to 3rd.
The Junior section contains comic books and story books like Amar Chitra Katha, Maths Puzzle, and Famous Five. Students can keep the books for 2 weeks with them.
The Senior section has been provided with the books related to their subjects, novels to improve their reading and communication skills, newspapers, magazines etc
Lala Pratap Singh Library
Lala Pratap Singh Library is located in the Platinum Jubilee Block. Every year the school organize Annual Book Week to inculcate the habit of reading in students. They also provide details regarding further studies in abroad.
Sanatorium
The school organizes the medical camp for students for their regular dental and ENT checkups and they also have the sanatorium which contains 3 beds, oxygen cylinder and a wheelchair for sick students.
Canteen
The school provides healthy and delicious foods like wraps, sandwiches, and drinks like nimbu-pani for refreshment. The canteen is well- furnished and plays music for enjoyment.
Hostels
The school hostel is a double story building with 31 rooms and a common entertainment room, a library, a sanatorium and a separate staff quarter. It remains closed during summer vacations i.e. from May to June, winter vacations in December and for a few days in autumn season i.e. in mid-October. On weekends, they take out students for watching movies, exhibition, trips and other events held in Delhi.
Sports
The school provides various sports facilities like a football field, basketball court, cricket pitch, swimming pool, table tennis, karate as they believe that ‘An athlete cannot run with money in his pockets. He must run with hope in his hearts and dreams in his mind.’
Co-Curricular Activities And Technologies
| Ceramic Design and Pottery- Here, Students learn to express their thoughts through ceramic art. They are trained by well-known artist. The sculptures and models made by the students are displayed near canteen and technological block. Their arts are also displayed in exhibition organized by the school on their foundation day. |
| Electronics and Robotics- The labs are well-equipped with latest equipments where the students are trained in robotics, automation and electronics. |
| Fashion and Jewellery Designing- The school teach students both fashion and designing techniques by providing them the knowledge of textile designing, accessory designing and fashion designing as their is a rapid growth in this industry. |
| Home Science and Interiors- The school provide education related to home science like cooking, health and hygiene and interior decoration which helps them in their future also. |
| Photography- The school motivates the students to build their career or hobby in photography. They organize trips and camps for the students so that they can capture that moment and emotions in cameras. They also organize exhibition based on social, moral and cultural values for students where they can display their pictures. |
| Paper Technology and Calligraphy- The school teach students to make best out of waste things through papers. These includes paper recycling, paper- machie, starch coating, origami etc. They also teach to write in a creative and decorative way through calligraphy. |
| Music and Dance- To build them confident and bold enough to face stage and the audience, students are taught activities like western and vocal music and dance. |
| Dramatics- The school has its own theatre called ‘Parvaz’. To build the confidence in the students, the school provides the opportunity to potray the different character. |

Transportation
The school provides bus facility for 31 buses which contain safety items like the fire extinguisher, first aid box, CCTV, and GPS system.
Modern School was established in the year 1920. It is affiliated to C.B.S.E. The school covers an area of 25 acres.
It is constructed on the land donated by Lala Sultan Singh for the special cause. To fulfill the dreams of his father, Lala Raghubir Singh with his colleague Sardar Sobha Singh, a renowned constructer, started to construct this building. In the year 1920, the construction got completed and they got their first school building. Mrs. Kamla Bose from Calcutta was the first Principal of the school.
