Accommodation

The school has 92 spacious, well-ventilated dormitories, surrounded by shady green trees that can accommodate about 500 boarding students (Boys only) at a time.

Meals

Borders are served with a pure vegetarian and balanced diet, along with milk. To give a homely atmosphere, teachers take their meals with the students.

Medical Facility

The school’s first-aid station is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Qualified doctors also conduct periodic medical examinations.

Facilities-In-General

Services like laundry, barbers, and cobblers are available within the hostel premises. An eco-friendly silent Genset has been installed to ensure the clock power supply. Besides, a tuck-shop on the campus caters to the boarders’ everyday needs of stationery and other such goods.

Infrastructure

Infrastructure is well-equipped with laboratories for each Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Sciences, and Geography. A library with a treasure of 15000 books on various subjects and can accommodate 150 students in chairs at a time. Has an auditorium with a capacity of 1500 audience? Physical Education

We at Gita Niketan believe that “a healthy mind lives in a healthy body,” and that “the importance of games and sports in the development of one’s health is universally recognized”. Students must appear in physical drills and games. It’s worth mentioning that our athletes have successfully raised the school flag in sports tournaments at all levels.

Yoga

Yoga, a gift from India to the world, has been universally recognized as the most effective way of retaining energetic, mental, spiritual, and moral balance. Our morning assembly yoga sessions benefit the youngsters in a variety of ways. We have a large hall called “Yoga Sadan” that was designed specifically for this purpose.

Music

If games and yoga strengthen children’s bodies and minds, music is a soothing booster for the soul. Not only is it a carrier of our age-old moral values, but it also helps in developing emotional skills. Gita Niketan makes all the efforts in giving its students the best opportunities to learn music in both its forms viz. instrumentals and vocals.

Moral and Spiritual Education

For a child to grow into a responsible citizen possessed with competence, self-esteem, and brimming with zeal for social service, our saints and sages have identified certain distinct moral values of life which need to be conveyed to the younger generation. A well-designed set of these values is termed moral and spiritual education, and Gita Niketan Awasiya Vidyalaya enjoys a nationwide reputation for being an institution whose atmosphere itself speaks volumes of these values.

Sanskrit – The Treasure of Wisdom

The Indian ancient literature has notable works, which still retain a unique potential to foster many modern disciplines of knowledge. It is required of all Indian students to be well-versed with Sanskrit to get a glimpse into that vast ocean of knowledge and thereby gain competence to be at both in terms of self-esteem and piquancy. Sanskrit is a required subject for all students in grades 6 through 10 at Gita Niketan Awasiya Vidyalaya.

SANSKRITI BODH PARIYOJNA

This project was started by Vidya Bharti to acquaint the students with their age-old cultural heritage and to inculcate in them Indian moral values. Millions of students from all over the nation take part every year in the Sanskriti Gian Pariksha (a G.K. test based on Indian culture, religion, and philosophy). Also, essay writing competitions and quiz contests are held under the SANSKRITI BODH PARIYOJNA project.

Sankalp

In 1997, Vidya Bharti started this initiative to encourage students in grades IX and X to choose careers in the Indian Civil Services.

The students are guided by Sankalp’s central office in Delhi regularly. Every year during the summer break, about 25 kids from our school participate in a week-long personality development camp.

Special Classes

The school features an extensive program for students in classes XI & XII to cater to the demands of students aspiring to succeed in board exams and crack various competitive exams. Expert faculty guide students for competitive tests with their schoolteachers and conduct sessions via video conference two days a week. Students are prepared for exams via weekly assessments and regular assignments.

N.C.C

The school focuses on improving the fundamentals of science topics so that students can reach par excellence. The school boasts 100 male and female NCC cadets (Army Wing) and 50 male and female NCC cadets (Navy Wing) (Air Wing).

Excursions

Learning trips for students are organized from time to time. This not only provides broader perspectives but also helps them connect with nature and our rich heritage. President House, Parliament Museum, Wagha Border-Amritsar, Science Centre-Delhi, Science City-Kapurthala, Nainital, Jallianwala Bagh-Amritsar, Chhattisgarh, M.P., Rajasthan, and Gujrat, to name a few, have all been visited in recent academic sessions.
